Your Personal Information
The London Institute of Space Policy and Law (“ISPL”) is an educational and research charity providing legal and policy advice and services, research, courses, seminars, workshops and conferences relating to space policy and law.
ISPL collects and otherwise processes personal data in order to conduct these activities. Any other activities or processing that we carry out support this primary function. The personal data collected and used includes that provided to ISPL through its website forms, contact pages or from other sources.
“Personal data” in this Privacy Notice has the same meaning as in the GDPR (EU General Data Protection Regulation 2016/679/EU). In summary, it means information that is connected to a living individual who can be identified from that information, either by itself or when combined with other data likely to come into ISPL’s possession.
Personal data can include information collected by certain cookies if it builds up a profile of an individual. ISPL policies relating to these are set out in the section on cookies.
ISPL is the Controller of personal data however collected. Your personal data will not be shared with others without your consent. Personal data will only be processed by persons connected with ISPL and subject to these data protection policies.
Our purposes and the lawful grounds for processing your personal data vary, depending on our relationship with you and on the activity in question. We may collect and otherwise process information about your identity, e-mail and physical address, other contact details, affiliations, qualifications and expertise. We will never sell your personal data.
We will only keep your personal data for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which we collected and continue to process it, and to satisfy any legal, accounting or reporting requirements. Personal data of students who have asked to be included in our notification list will be deleted in October of the following academic year. A fresh request must be submitted to ISPL for each academic year by completing the Events Notification form on the Contact Page of our website.
Under the law you have the right to:
Request access to your personal data;
Rectify your personal data if you believe it to be inaccurate;
Request we erase your personal data if we no longer have a lawful ground to use it;
Restrict how we use your personal data whilst a complaint is being investigated; and
Transfer your personal data to another data controller (“data portability”).
If you have any questions about this Privacy Policy, or if you want to enforce your rights, please contact Info@Space-Institute.org.
