Programs and Events
Practitioner and Expert Seminars
ISPL delivers topical seminars and trains lawyers and policy experts for the commercial space sector, government and international agencies among many others.
Workshops
ISPL runs workshops on legal and policy developments, sometimes as part of our research work. Our aim is to foster discussion, inform and advise a wide range of space sector participants. We also wish to influence the development of sound law and policy.
Courses
We create targeted courses on specific aspects of law and policy at higher academic and professional levels. Previous courses have been offered at King’s College London and the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies, London University, Cranfield University and Surrey University. Students are also welcome at many of the Institute’s events.
CPD
We are approved CPD Providers for the Law Society (SRA) and the Bar Standards Board of the Bar Council of England and Wales.
Barristers: CPD Provider Number = 2059. Solicitors: SRA Accreditation Number = 557485, CPD Reference = DYY/LISP.
Education
The ISPL Director and Faculty provide expert supervision for Masters and Doctoral Degree candidates with an interest in space policy and law. Our role is to work with degree-granting universities in areas such as engineering, environmental science, law, security, commerce and governance whose students wish to pursue research in areas within our expertise.
If you have a research proposal we will be pleased to review it.
The Institute also offers a limited number of space law and policy courses for undergraduates.
Research Visitors
We welcome visiting and post-doctoral scholars and researchers. As the only space policy and law institute in the UK, we are uniquely placed to assist high-level research in this area. Our Visiting Scholars, and Visiting Researchers benefit from our association with the Institute of Advanced Legal Studies of the University of London (IALS), with University College London (UCL) and other institutions. Our strong connections with professional, industry and government bodies also provide invaluable resources for Visitors.
