Evidence from Space
ISPL is commissioned by ESA to update its 2012 Evidence from Space Report and to develop guidelines to facilitate the use of satellite derived Earth Observation (EO) information (EO Information) as evidence in judicial and administrative proceedings.
In the last few years there have been many changes in technology the law and court practice including greater familiarity with EO. Manipulation and interference with data transmission and processing has also increased posing challenges to reliability of EO Information.
With the assistance and support of our technical partners IABG and Planetek we are addressing the issues involved and pleased to be nearing the completion of the update. We then expect to commence the development of the Guidelines for the legal, technical, administrative and other users of EO Information.
We plan to hold Workshops to discuss our Project Reports to ensure all relevant topics have been addressed. Please let us know your interest in attending the Workshops.
